Policy and Procedure Related to Intellectual Property and the BIN Privacy Policy:
a. Intellectual Property: The use or alteration of any BIN-created image, logos, artwork, or photography must be discussed with and granted as permissible by the Executive Director or the Development Director. Any such resulting image or product using the BIN logos, whether in whole or in part, must be formally approved by either the Executive Director or Development Director prior to distribution or publication on any printed, electronic, or tangible item or if used or shared on any social media platform whether owned and managed by BIN or otherwise. If the Executive Director or Development Director is not available and the approval is time-sensitive, the Board of Directors must provide permission.
b. The BIN website and all its content are owned by the BIN (unless otherwise indicated) and are protected by copyright laws. All rights are reserved by BIN, and visitors may not copy, reproduce, download, upload, republish, disseminate, post, distribute, or transmit by any means the contents of the website, except with the expressed permission of BIN.
i. The information - on BIN’s website is provided by the organization for general information purposes. None of the information on the website is intended or should be construed to be legal or medical advice or a legal or medical opinion unless the content is produced by a licensed professional providing such services who is an approved partner of the Brain Injury Network of Dallas. While every effort has been made to ensure that the information on the website is as accurate as possible, omissions and errors may occur. BIN and its contributing authors expressly disclaim all liability to any person with respect to the consequences of any act or omission committed based upon reliance, in whole or in part, on any of the contents of the website.
ii. At certain places on the website, live links to other Internet addresses/third-party sites can be accessed. Such third-party sites contain information created, published, maintained, or otherwise posted by institutions or organizations independent of BIN. BIN does not endorse, approve, certify or control these third-party sites and therefore cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, efficacy, timeliness, or correct sequencing of information located at such addresses. Reference therein to any specific product, process, or service by trade name, trademark, service mark, manufacturer, or otherwise to partners of BIN is made in good faith. However, use of the BIN website and further use of third-party sites is at the risk of the website visitor and the website visitor assumes full responsibility for all consequences that arise out of use.
iii. BIN respects the privacy of each visitor to the BIN website. BIN reserves the right to use cookies or other tools for the purpose of de-identified analytics. Any personal contact information or protected health information provided to BIN through the website will be used solely by BIN for internal purposes. Further, personal contact information and protected health information is securely stored by BIN through numerous password-protected layers accessible only to fully trained BIN employees, a designee of the Board of Directors, or other fully trained designees named by the Executive Director.
iv. Personal information provided via the BIN website will be shared only with third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including processing credit card payments, event registration, or other customer services (i.e., Paragon, Stripe, EventBrite, Race Roster, Bid Pal). Personal information will not be given or sold to any entity by BIN.
